***WIND CHILL ADVISORY THROUGH 1PM***
Today: Mostly Sunny, Windy and Cold – High 18
Tonight: Clear, Windy and Cold – Low 6
Tomorrow: Mostly Sunny, Breezy – High 28
Wednesday: A Chance of Freezing Rain/Sleet Early, Becoming all Rain after 11AM – High 42
Despite some sunshine, wind chills will remain below zero all day and overnight tonight. By tomorrow afternoon the winds will ease a bit and our temperatures will at least nudge into the upper 20's.
Things to note when this cold:
1) Check/wrap pipes exposed to the cold
2) Don't forget your pets! They cannot handle the cold like you and me.
3) Check on your elders and neighbors to make sure heat is in working order
4) Cover your face and avoid breathing in dangerous cold
Our next weather maker will arrive early Wednesday morning and may start out as a period of freezing rain and sleet for the Wednesday morning commute, especially in the higher elevations. Temperatures will warm by lunchtime leaving us with a cold rain in the afternoon. We will be watching this storm closely for potential impacts to the Wednesday morning commute.
After that there is more cold air in the pipeline, as another push of Arctic air moves in overnight on Thursday into Friday producing a few snow showers. Our winter is finally not only getting cold but active so stay with us as we continue to keep you out ahead of this wintry pattern!
