Sarah Burns joined CBS21 in June 2023 as a Multimedia Journalist and Digital Producer. Before returning to Pennsylvania, she was a Lead Digital Producer and Multimedia journalist for KTXS News in Abilene, Texas.
Sarah grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where her love for journalism and storytelling was born. She graduated from Millersville University in 2021 with a degree in Media Arts Production. While living in Texas, she covered multiple breaking news stories that included everything from rattlesnakes to wildfires in the Big Country. As a journalist, Sarah believes that her passion lies with being able to get viewers the right information, on demand.
One of her favorite career moments so far happened when she was invited to do an interview with BBC News about the Philadelphia Eagles during the Super Bowl. An avid Philly sports fan, she was all too excited to share what it means to be an 'underdog'.
When she's not in the newsroom, Sarah enjoys drinking iced coffee, listening to Harry Styles, and playing with her rescue dog Lady.
She is also extremely passionate about her heritage, and is fluent in two other languages including French and Welsh. Sarah is also a published author, and specializes in fiction stories. She published her first book after graduating from Phoenixville High School in 2017.
Sarah is thrilled to be able to call Pennsylvania home again, and she is looking forward to telling the stories of the people of Central PA.
