Andrea Snody joined the CBS 21 News team in August 2023 as a Week-Day Multimedia Journalist.
The Maryland native graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2023 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Media Studies. She is a PROUD Nittany Lion and an avid Penn State football fan.
During her time in Happy Valley, she interned as an Anchor and Reporter for Centre County Report. Her most-notable story highlights were covering the Pennsylvania general election in 2022. She was the primary Anchor on Election Night and utilized live, real-time results during the newscast.
Her ability to communicate in both English and Spanish opened a window for her to speak with Puerto Rican natives during the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona, which struck the island in September of 2022.
Her love for Penn State Football granted her the opportunity to work with the Big Ten Network, ESPN College Football, and Fox Sports during football season. She was also a Co-Anchor for Nittany Talk, a student run talk-show, and a production member for 46Live, the broadcast team for THON, a student run philanthropy to raise money towards childhood cancer.
Andrea is a Pennsylvania Army National Guard Officer and commissioned through Penn State’s Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program. Because her father is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, she knew from a young age she wanted to serve her country and continue to protect the nation’s first amendment rights of free speech, press, and religion.
Andrea's goal at CBS 21 is to use those rights to be a voice for the voiceless, keep the community educated and informed, and to hold authorities accountable through compelling stories.
If you see Andrea around Harrisburg, be sure to say hello! She would love to meet you.
