Vintage Video: 1987 Ben Abner makes Senators

He wasn't sure if he'd make it to Harrisburg. But he did.

Ben Abner of Mechanicsburg was a member of the first Harrisburg Senators club in 1987. But in spring training, there was some question if he'd make the club, reports CBS 21's Kurt Gregory.

Abner, now 53 and living in Georgia, is the older brother of Shawn Abner, the top overall pick in the 1984 June draft.

The 1987 season turned out to be Abner's last. After playing 26 games for the Senators, he played the final games of his pro career with Springfield (Cardinals) of the Midwest League.
