Lehman ready to perform at PSU Pro Day

HARRISBURG -- He looks the part. He now has to prove he's healthy enough to play the part.
Former Penn State tight end Matt Lehman is returning to Penn State on Thursday to participate at Penn State's Pro Day for the program's pro prospects.
He knows he has a lot to prove.
"Being healthy; I want to prove that," said Lehman, a former walk-on from Newport. "I want to prove that I can get in-and-out of breaks; that I still have the speed and that I've got the ability to play."
Lehman, who stands 6-6, hasn't played in a game since tearing his ACL during a Penn State game in August 2013.
He's been training with Dave Brixius of Explosive Sports Performance in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County.
Brixius has already seen improvement in the short time Lehman's been working with him.
"He's hugely improved," said Brixius. His vertical is much better; its back to where it was. It was way down before.
"His broad jump is back to where it was. I think his 40 (-yard dash) and pro agility times are going to be fantastic."
Lehman is just six credits shy of a master's degree -- so away from football, he's been spending his time wisely.
But football is what he's focused on.
"From what I've heard, a lot of scouts believe I have the ability," he said.
"Its just a question of whether not I'm healthy."
