Former Steeler, business owner team up to fight breast cancer
PITTSBURGH - An Indiana business owner and a former Steeler are teaming up to help the fight against breast cancer.
Gary Wyant, owner of G.C. Wyant Fine Jewelry in Indiana, and ex-Steelers running DeAngelo Williams, have started a raffle to raise funds for breast cancer treatment.
Wyant's business teamed up with the DeAngelo Williams Foundation to raffle off the $13,000 diamond ring.
Wyant's grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer and he reached out to Williams to come up with the raffle to help find a cure.
"Upon reaching out to DeAngelo and his wife Risalyn, I knew I had connected with a family who shares the same motivation to fight for a cure," said Wyant.
Williams started the foundation after his mother and four aunts all were diagnosed with breast cancer. His mother passed away from the disease in 2014 at age 53.
Anyone in the nation can purchase the $10 raffle ticket to win the diamond ring and can purchase tickets here.
The winner will be announced Nov. 17 at Indiana's Light Up Night celebration.
