A mother in Arkansas is recovering after a bite from a brown recluse spider ended with her losing her leg.

According to WTVR, Kiara Boulton noticed a bump on her foot from what she believed to be a spider bite.

She went to the hospital, where she says she was told she needed to see her primary care physician. Her doctor prescribed medicine, reports WTVR.

Three days later, her toe turned black and doctors said it needed to be amputated.

But the infection kept spreading, and her leg had to be amputated above the knee.

The station says that now she's had seven surgeries — all because of the spider bite.

"Three kids, Kiara, three," she told herself, according to WTVR. "God wouldn't have let you have them if you weren't supposed to be here for them. Fight through this."

Boulton says she keeps all of the spiders she finds in her apartment in a jar so they can't bite her childre, and reportedly made her apartment manager aware of the spiders in her unite. She says it hasn't helped, according to WTVR.

According to the station, Boulton has been a diabetic since she was 10. She said, "I don't want to be on pain meds for the rest of my life... I'm now on dialysis because of a spider bite."
