LANCASTER COUNTY — A Carlisle man was recently convicted of groping a Lancaster County girl during a door-to-door window replacement sales assignment.
The Lancaster County DA's Office says a jury deliberated for a little over an hour before returning guilty verdicts against 20-year-old Austin Kann to counts of unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault without consent and corruption of minors.
During the three day trial, evidence was presented showing that Kann was working for Renewal by Anderson when he assaulted a girl in a Warwick Township home, according to the DA's Office.
Kann was going door-to-door attempting to sell replacement windows, according to testimony.
The DA says a neighbor testified that he called 911 after the victim's relative told him what happened right after the incident occurred. Police found Kann, wearing a work shirt, near the scene.
The victim reported that Kann came to her door and asked if a homeowner was home, and she replied that her parents were not home.
Kann then asked the girl to come outside and show him a window, which is when he groped her, according the DA's Office.
A Lancaster County judge will sentence Kann on May 15 after a background investigation is completed.
The unlawful contact with a minor charge is a felony, the other two charges are misdemeanors.
