A SWAT situation in Williamstown has ended and the suspect wanted for a March murder outside of a Harrisburg bar is now in custody, according to Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo.

Pennsylvania State Police arrived at an apartment complex on Maple Lane in Williamstown around 2:45 p.m. after the suspect, Charles Williams, refused to leave the residence when the fugitive task force was trying to arrest him on murder charges, the DA explained.

“This fugitive put the community and law enforcement at risk," said United States Marshal Martin Pane. "I commend the fugitive task force for their diligence in apprehending Williams before someone else got seriously hurt.”

Williams was wanted for the murder of 20-year-old Jawan Washington. Police allege Williams shot and killed the man outside of Double D’s Bar and Grill in Harrisburg in March.
