WEATHER WATCH: Two chances for snow in the coming week
ANOTHER WINTRY DUO FOR CENTRAL PA:
Today: Mostly Sunny, The Calm Before - High 38
Tonight: Increasing Clouds, Light Snow Develops Late - Low 24 ... Around 1" Expected By Monday Morning
Monday: Morning Light Snow ... Next Round Of Snow Late Day - High 36
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
For starters cold air is in place for this first wave of snow that moves in this evening (mainly after 8 pm) and continues through early Monday morning. It is a light yet disruptive snow event bringing 1 to 2" to the area by the Monday morning commute.
Then....wave two, which is much more impactful for the area Monday evening through Tuesday. This storm is similar to the other flavors of storms we've experience this winter. Snow followed by a wintry mix then rain. A steadier snow Monday evening will continue overnight into Tuesday. A general 3 to 5" likely with some higher amounts across higher elevations. Then warmer air gradually moves in Tuesday morning turning the snow to sleet...then frz rain and wrapping up Tuesday evening as rain. A sloppy Tuesday expected. School delays/closing and slick roads. Plan accordingly!
