WEATHER WARN | Winter Storm Warning, Winter Weather Advisory in effect thru Tues.
MORE WINTRY WEATHER FOR CENTRAL PA:
**WINTER STORM WARNING UNTIL 6 PM TUESDAY**
ADDITIONAL 3 TO 6" OF SNOW BEFORE GOING OVER TO ICY MIX THEN RAIN TUESDAY MORNING.
**WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY UNTIL 6 PM TUESDAY**
ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4" OF SNOW BEFORE GOING OVER TO ICY MIX THEN RAIN TUESDAY MORNING.
- This Afternoon: Cloudy, Light Wet Snow – High 34
- Tonight: Snow ... Heavy at Times, Mixing with Sleet – Low 30
- Tuesday: Snow, Changing to Sleet and Freezing Rain, Mostly All Rain Come Late Afternoon – High 36
- Wednesday: Partly Sunny, Breezy – High 36
Wave two will be much more impactful for the area tonight through tomorrow. We can expect a prolonged period of accumulating snow followed by a wintry mix, then rain.
A general 3 to 6" is likely with locally larger amounts north and west of the Harrisburg metro and across higher elevations.
Then warmer air gradually moves in Tuesday morning turning the snow to sleet...then freezing rain and wrapping up Tuesday as rain. A sloppy Tuesday is expected with another round of school delays/closings and slick roads. Plan accordingly!
With the complexity of Tuesday's storm we have declared it CBS 21 *Weather Warn Day* until further notice.
Following this storm another complex area of disturbed weather heads east come the end of the week.
Currently the setup is trending warmer which means mainly a rain event on Friday, but there is a possibility for a wintry mix come Saturday. All-in-all a busy pattern ahead!
