Third victim of back-to-back York shootings dead in hospital

The York County Coroner announced that the third victim of the two shootings that occurred within hours of each other on Wednesday night in York has died in the hospital.

The coroner's office says they were dispatched to York Wellspan Hospital on September 12 at approximately 9:47 p.m. for the reported death of a male shooting victim.

The victim was identified by the York County Coroner as 20-year-old Tyre Johnson of the 300 block of Bruaw Drive in Manchester Township.

Johnson was shot on the night of September 11 outside in the area of North Pershing and Jefferson Avenue in York City at approximately 9:42 p. m.

The coroner's office says Johnson was transported to York Hospital from the scene of the shooting on Wednesday night and remained in critical condition until he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night at approximately 9:12 p.m.

Deputy Coroner Tania Zech certified the death.

Two other men were killed in a separate shooting on Wednesday night in York City that occurred just an hour before Johnson was shot.

Forty-two year old Charles McAllister and 29-year-old Lawrence Allston were shot and killed around 8:30 on September 11 in the 500 block of West Princess Street.

York City Police are still currently investigating both incidents.

Police believe all three men were targeted in both shootings. It is still unknown if both shootings were related.
