Remembering Deputy Marshal Hill one day after his death
The flags are flying at half-staff at the Federal Courthouse today in memory of Deputy U.S. Marshal Christopher Hill.
Senator Mike Regan was a close friend of the Deputy US Marshal.
Hill lived in York most recently.
He was a devoted husband, father of two and 11 year veteran of the U.S. Marshal service.
He was also an army vet who served in Afghanistan from 1993 to 1996.
He was involved in the manhunt for Eric Frein and a member of a special operations group since 2010.
This morning he's being remembered not only for his service -- but for his character.
“Great guy, top notch deputy, decorated veteran, just a good egg, good kid. We were with him for about 5 years until i retired so it's just very sad to see him go,” regan says.
Dauphin County coroner did an autopsy yesterday, confirming he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
His body was taken yesterday to the Geigle Funeral Home on Linglestown Rd.
No word on funeral arrangements yet.
