A woman was arrested after she was seen running across the street, chasing a man while completely naked.

According to a criminal affidavit, police received multiple reports of a naked woman running across Arsenal Road and N. George St. on Feb. 2.

After searching for the woman, officers located her and another man in a parking lot on the corner of Arsenal Road and W. 11th Avenue.

According to the affidavit, the woman, identified as Kerri Sue Smith, was immediately placed in the back of a police cruiser.

The man, identified as Dante Hedgepath, said he and Smith, 47, knew each other in high school and had gotten a room together at a Super 8 Motel.

Hedgepath told police Smith began "acting crazy" and saying they were going to "have kids and start a life together," according to the affidavit.

The affidavit says Hedgepath got freaked out and left the room, but Smith followed him to the lobby, completely naked, screaming for him to come back.

Hedgepath says he ran from the hotel to get away from Smith and kept running until police found the pair in the parking lot, according to the affidavit.

In the parking lot, police found Hedgepath to be in possession of an open, half full bottle of Grey Goose cherry flavored vodka, raw leaf marijuana, a silver metal grinder containing marijuana residue, and three orange pill bottles with assorted pills in them, according to the affidavit.

Hedgepath showed officers a Medical Marijuana Card and said he purchased the leaf marijuana at a dispensary, but couldn't provide proof of purchase or any official packing from the dispensary.

According to the affidavit, both Hedgepath and Smith had a strong "intoxicating odor" on their breath when officers spoke with them.

Smith told police "something inside me told me to go after him" and kept repeating "I love him" and "I'm not crazy," according to the affidavit.

Both told officers that hadn't been a physical altercation.

Hedgepath and Smith were taken to Central Booking, where a female Sheriff's Deputy met the cruisers and gave Smith a blanket and clothing to dress herself.

After, both were released to the Sheriff's Department for processing and arraignment.

Smith was charged with Indecent Exposure, Open Lewdness, Disorderly Conduct, amd Public Drunkenness.
