Police: Reported shooting in Lancaster County didn't happen


WARWICK TWP., LANCASTER COUNTY -- Investigators with the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department determined reports of a shooting in Warwick Township early Wednesday morning are unfounded.

Around 3 a.m., NLCRPD officers responded to a home in the 900 block of Rabbit Hill Road for reports of a man with a gunshot wound. They found a man conscious and sitting on a chair. Investigators say officers and EMS personnel immediately determined the victim's injuries were not from a gunshot.

The man was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for further evaluation. Medical staff there also confirmed his injuries were not from a gunshot.

The investigation into his non-life threatening injuries will continue.
