Steelton Police say two residents were charged with endangering the welfare of children earlier this month after an investigation found multiple children were found home alone.

Jamie Himes and Jason Crawford each face nine counts of the charge after eight children were found in a home on the 300 block of Spruce Street on Oct. 19, 2018.

Police say the children, ranging in age from 1-year-old to 10-year-old, were found in "unlivable conditions" and all taken into protective custody.

Dauphin County Children and Youth responded to the scene and assisted police with their investigation.

Himes and Crawford were charged on Feb. 7.

According a criminal docket, a preliminary hearing for Jamie Himes is scheduled for Feb. 26.
