PA cannabis company pledges to hire more veterans

As medical marijuana dispensaries open for business across the state, one company has made a promise to add more veterans to their workforce.

The Terrapin Care Station is one of 12 growers and processors with approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Health to open a medical marijuana facility.

The facility, located in Pine Creek Township, will begin distributing medical marijuana in the spring.

Through their partnership with VetForce, a security company primarily staffed by veterans, TCS has announced they will hire a staff made up of 30 percent veterans.

VetForce will provide on-site security at the TCS location on Henry Street.

The two companies are working together to create job opportunities for veterans in Clinton County.

β€œIn addition to the health benefits of medical marijuana, we are helping our veterans and demonstrating a positive economic impact on our community," said Mike Flanagan, chief executive of the Clinton County Economic Partnership and local Chamber of Commerce. "We feel good about being part of that story.”

There will be a job fair for veterans looking for employment hosted by the TCS in the coming weeks.
