Lancaster man accused of molesting child previously pled guilty in daughter's drowning

    A Lancaster man accused of sexually molesting a child for seven years recently pleaded guilty to charges related to his infant daughter's drowning death.

    Manheim Township Police say 46-year-old Geoffrey Bussard was arrested on Feb. 14 after an investigation into the sexual assault of a child.

    Bussard is charged with the following after allegedly molesting the victim from August 2006 to August 2013:

    • Rape of a child
    • Aggravated indecent assault of a child
    • Involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child
    • Aggravated sexual assault
    • Indecent assault
    • Unlawful contact with a minor
    • Corruption of a minor
    • Endangering the welfare of children

    Detectives filed a criminal complaint the day before Bussard was taken into custody.

    Bussard was remanded to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

    Parents plead guilty in connection to 3-year-old's drowning death

    On Feb. 8, Bussard entered a guilty plea in Lancaster County Court to misdemeanor endangering a child after his 3-year-old daughter wandered out of his home and drowned.

    He will serve a five-year probation term in that case.

    The child's mother also pleaded guilty in county court to involuntary manslaughter and endangering a child. Rehm will serve 1-2 years in prison, followed by four years of probation.
