I-83 construction causing road closures in York County
York, PA —
Construction planned on I-83 this weekend may close both the north and southbound lanes of the busy highway in York County.
PennDOT crews will start the work Saturday around noon, weather permitting. Work will continue overnight Saturday, and should be finished by 5:00 am Sunday.
Traffic restrictions begin at Exit 4, Shrewsbury, and run to Exit 10, Loganville.
Crews are paving, installing guardrails and signs and installing rumble strips.
Previously all the work was done in the overnight hours, but with winter approaching crews are working to complete the project during daylight hours.
Drivers are reminded to keep an eye out for workers, and obey all posted speed limits.
