Hundreds of veterans head to Arlington National Cemetery

In honor of Veteran's Day hundreds of York County vets are taking a free trip down to Washington, D.C.

Twelve buses, filled with 675 veterans, took off from the York Fairgrounds on Wednesday morning - their destination? Arlington National Cemetery.

The morning began with breakfast and remarks, before everyone boarded the coaches for a day of sightseeing. The ride and food was donated by local businesses including Bailey Coach in York.

"It’s a way for me to honor my parents who both served in World War II; my father was a captain, my mother was a Lieutenant," said John Bailey, owner of Bailey Coach. "And just to help the local vet see some of the memorials that are down in Washington DC to honor them for the service to our great country."

It's the second year Bailey Coach organized the trip. Some elected officials joined the group, including state senator and gubernatorial candidate Scott Wagner and Congressman Scott Perry.
