Four B.B. guns found in two central Pa. schools

Three b.b. gun incidents happened Thursday at two central PA schools.

One of the incidents happened at Central York Middle School. The other one happened at Chambersburg Area Senior High School. No one was injured.

“I can’t stress enough for students and people in the community, the parents... to make sure that they report something suspicious any time they hear or see it,” said Brian Krause, co-owner of Vulnerability Solutions Group.

Police say a picture was taken Thursday in a Central York Middle School bathroom showing a student holding what appeared to be a gun.

That picture quickly circulated on the social media app Snapchat.

Because people reported the picture, two middle school students have already been identified and interviewed.

“Now with the prevalence of social media it adds a whole new dimension to these threats,” said Krause.

Police are also looking into Thursday’s other b.b. gun incident at Chambersburg Area Senior High School.

One student was found with 2 b.b. guns and another student with one b.b. gun. Both students were taken into police custody.

Police are asking people to stay alert and say the ‘see something, say something’ program is and has been a successful tool for investigations.

“It’s important that everybody works together as a team to keep apprised of the situation, to keep apprised of things going on. So it’s important that the police are in contact with school administrators, who are in contact with the parents who are in contact with the students. So it’s important that we work together as a team to stop these things before they happen,” said Cpl. Adam Reed with the Pennsylvania State Police.

It’s not clear at this point if any of the students allegedly involved will be facing charges.

Police say there’s no threat to anyone’s safety because of these incidents.
