Driver charged in Double Fatal Route 222 Crash


A Virginia man is charged with causing a fatal accident in Lancaster County that killed 2 people.

30-year-old Anthony W. Caldwell is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence in connection to a Sept. 10 crash on Route 222.

On Dec. 5, Caldwell turned himself into West Earl Township Police.

Police say, Caldwell killed 44-year-old tow-truck operator, Ralph Waltrous, and 46-year-old-Robert Buckwalter, when his van hit them on the side of the road.

Testing showed Caldwell's blood alcohol level was .088 around the time of the crash.

Investigators say that the Virginia resident does not have a driver's license.
