CV High School student wins inaugural Congressional App Challenge

Mathematical Journey - Ian Cook

In a press release, Congressman Scott Perry has announce that Ian Cook, a student at Cumberland Valley High School, has won the 4th Congressional District's inaugural Congressional App Challenge (CAC).

Perry says the CAC was implemented to help show the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematical (STEM) and computer-based skills.

Ian's app is called "Mathematical Journey." He says it's an educational game intended for grade school kids to work on basic math problems and have fun at the same time.

Here is a video Ian posted as a demonstration of the app:

The CAC was open to all high school students within the 4th district. Eight submissions were received in total.

“We want to inspire 4th District students to explore STEM, coding and computer science as potential careers,” said Congressman Perry. “As such, we hope to make this an annual program and encourage all students to consider applying for next year’s App Challenge.”
