At approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday West York police went to the Kingston House apartments in the 1200 block of West King Street for reports of a shooting.

An older male was found dead of "an apparent gunshot wound to the chest" in his apartment, according to police. The York County Coroner says that Gresville Phillip, 72, died of a gunshot wound to the chest and has ruled his death as a homicide.

Police say that Barbara Miles, of York, has been charged with criminal homicide in relation to the incident. Police say that she and the gun, a .40 cal pistol reported stolen from Kentucky, were located and that she admitted to the shooting.

According to police, neighbors heard the two arguing and a gun shot.

Police say that the event was isolated and that the two knew each other and "wish to reassure the public that we do not feel that there is any threat to the safety of West York residents at this time."
