Police identify victims in deadly York City shooting

Police say Matthew Alexander Bell, 32 and a 17-year-old male were shot last night in York City.

Dispatch says the shooting happened at 8:39 PM at the 200 block of South Penn Street.

Police say the 17-year-old was found with a bullet wound to his left side and was transported to York Hospital. At this time he is listed in stable condition.

Bell was pronounced dead at the scene.

This was the first homicide in York City since Mayor Michael Helfrich took office. Helfrich was at the scene to show support for the victims family and speak out against violence in the city.
