Victim in school bus-involved crash identified as Northeastern High School student


The York County Coroner's Office has identified the victim in this morning's crash in Conewago Township as 17-year-old Masey Dacheux, of Dover Township.

Masey, identified as a student at Northeastern High School by a post on the district's Facebook page, was killed when her car crashed into a Northeastern School District school bus around 9 a.m.

The crash happened on the 4100 block of Lewisberry Road in Conewago Township where the bus was stopped to pick up a student, according to Northern York County Regional Police.

The vehicle had crashed into the back of the bus and become lodged underneath it.

Massey was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

No students on the bus or the bus driver were injured in the crash.

A Facebook post from the Northeastern School District says all bus riders were checked by EMS at the scene and cleared of any injuries.

Students were taken to Northeastern Middle School and were again checked by school nurses and staff.

Parents and guardians of students on the bus were notified Thursday morning.

Northern York County Regional Police are investigating the crash.

According to the coroner's office, the cause of death is blunt force head injuries and the manner of death is accidental.

There will be no autopsy.
