Bicyclist killed after collision with sedan in Derry Township

The Derry Township Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a sedan and a bicyclist.

According to police, the accident happened on East Hersheypark Drive about 0.2 miles east of Laudermilch Road on June 18, just before 11:30 pm.

A compact sedan collided with the bicycle in the westbound travel lanes. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dauphin County Coroner's Office, according to police.

Identification of the driver and the bicyclist are pending notification of the family of the deceased bicyclist.

Derry Township Police were assisted by Palmyra Borough Police, Hershey Fire Police, Life Lion EMS, Dauphin County Coroner’s Office, and the Dauphin County Accident Reconstruction Team.
