Bethesda Mission preparing to help more as weather gets cold
HARRISBURG, Pa —
The Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg in preparing for the cold snap.
They say they are expecting more than 100 men to show up.
Winter means the streets become dangerous at night. Temperatures are dangerous to life and limb. You add precipitation to that and it becomes a really difficult situation. So any man who wants to get off the street is gonna have a place here.
They've geared up for the night, adding more workers and plenty of food.
Last year alone, the Mission provided a warm place to sleep for more than 40,000 people and over 120,000 meals.
