Luthercare for Kids
Where We Play to Learn!
Luthercare for Kids provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can be kids, students, athletes and artists … where they can explore, learn, thrive and grow. Give your child a great start by enrolling them in a Luthercare for Kids Early Learning Center with four locations in Lancaster and Lebanon counties, including a new location in Marietta opening in June!
Luthercare for Kids knows the first five years are critical to a child’s development and that quality programs matter. Our centers provide a perfect balance of learning and play, and our approach to child care and early learning gives children the exceptional skills they need to ensure success in kindergarten and beyond. Each Luthercare for Kids location is a state-licensed center and participates in Pennsylvania’s quality initiative, the Keystone STARS program. Luthercare for Kids offers Early Head Start and Pre-K Counts programming.
Luthercare for Kids offers an exciting curriculum that teaches basic learning concepts and social skills. Our teachers provide a daily combination of learning and play through activities and materials that are geared to the needs and developmental stages of the children in the classrooms.
Luthercare for Kids classrooms explore topics relevant to the lives of young children, which come from questions raised during activities and play. Teachers work to integrate areas of literacy, math, science, social studies, health, the arts and other concepts into the unit of study, putting it all together into a weekly learning plan with specific activities and experiences.
Constructive play in our classrooms also helps children develop important social, emotional and communication skills. Skills, such as sharing a space, taking turns, building self-control, articulating needs, carefully listening to others and responding appropriately to conversation, are all intentionally taught through play. With responsive teachers overseeing the play, children are encouraged to take independent action, to try to solve problems, to learn to appropriately care for themselves and the classroom space and to develop an awareness of other’s feelings and needs.
Child care is available for infants, toddlers and preschoolers at all of our Early Learning Centers. Additionally, most of our centers offer both before- and after-school programs for elementary school students, including summer enrichment programs.
Our centers are located in Annville, Lancaster and Reamstown, and in June, Luthercare for Kids will be opening a new location in Marietta. The location, within a state-of-the-art space inside Community Bible Church, 331 Anderson Ferry Road, Marietta, will provide services for infants (age 6 weeks) through preschool beginning Monday, June 4. The center will also offer a before- and after-school program for the 2018-2019 school year.
Luthercare for Kids – Marietta will host a series of open houses in June for interested families and individuals who would like to tour classrooms, explore options and learn more. The open houses will be held on the following dates and times:
