21 Days of Caring | Donations needed at Central PA Blood Bank
Our 21 Days of Caring campaign continues with the Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank.
A blood drive took place on Wednesday at the Pinnacle Health in Dillsburg.
Blood donations are extremely important - as one pint of blood can save three lives. Workers at the bank tell us this time of year is crucial.
Kacy Englebrok is a Donor Resource Consultant. She said, "This time of year is especially important for us. The holidays tend to take donors away from blood drives. People are preoccupied with shopping, visiting people, traveling things like that. However the need for blood increases or stays the same - either way we need more people to show up and come out."
According to the blood bank, each day patients in Central PA use between 275 and 300 units of blood.
