A local woman is looking to thank healthcare workers during the pandemic.
Melissa Miller is raising money to create COVID care packages for those on the front lines in hospitals. The goal is to get items that can help them relax and reassure them that the public cares.
The care packages are also a way to support local businesses: Miller is gathering homemade snacks, coffee, gift cards, and other small items that can be shared.
"Giving something to them to ease that little bit of feeling that they can't do their normal things, see their families, just make them smile by seeing these things," Miller said.
Miller plans to get the boxes out in the next few weeks.
