Wind advisory in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday evening
STATE COLLEGE, Pa —
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry and York counties.
The advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. this evening with the strongest wind gusts occurring during the afternoon hours.
The NWS predicts winds from the west between 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 45 or 50 mph.
NWS warns that strong wind gusts may blow down limbs, trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
Drivers of high profile vehicles are warned that driving will be difficult, especially on roads running north to south where winds are funneled through gaps in the ridges.
