Millersville University grad staring down Hurricane Harvey while working for NWS
People along the Texas coast are evacuating but one Millersville University grad is staring down the storm.
Greg Heavener is forecasting for the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi. CBS21 spoke with him via Skype and he says the atmosphere in Texas is tense.
"It's a very very somber mood. I get chills thinking about it because of how much of an impact on people's lives and not for the better," said Heavener. "It can be also a very emotional event for a lot of people including myself. I got a job to do and I'm trying to do the best I can."
Heavener expects to be on the clock until at least Sunday afternoon, when Harvey is expected to subside.
