Human remains found in York Township

Posted by Don Yeager (

YORK TOWNSHIP-- Coroner Barry Bloss says the remains that were found were that of a man who went missing in the area around June 28.

Bloss said the area was searched at the time, but the corn was about four to six feet high and they did not find anything.  The body was found yesterday when the corn picker was going through and it was decomposed.

The death has been ruled a suicide, according to Bloss.  There will be no autopsy.

The York County Coroner's office does not release the identities of suicide victims.

YORK TOWNSHIP -- York Area Regional Police are investigating human remains found in a farm field.

Police were called to the farm on Revere Road in York Township around 4:39pm Saturday.

The operator of a combine noticed the body while harvesting corn.

An officer with the York Area Regional Police tell CBS 21 News that early reports indicate the body is a man and that the body is badly decomposed.
