Sara Small is excited to be back in Harrisburg for the second time at the station where she got her start in the wild world of television news!
Sara joined CBS 21 News in May 2016 as a Multimedia Journalist. She's proud to say she's a college graduate from the area. She graduated from Shippensburg University in May 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications/Journalism and a minor in Exercise Science.
Sara moved home to Abington, Pa., just outside of Philadelphia, right after school. Two months later, she was back in Harrisburg for her first job as an Associate Producer for CBS 21 News This Morning. She then moved to Johnstown, Pa. as the Morning Producer for 6 News at Sunrise, quickly transitioning to a State College bureau reporter in June 2015. Now she's back in the capital and happier to be closer to family, friends and home!
Throughout college, Sara was active in the campus community. She was the Executive Producer for SUTV News, the campus television station, on top of reporting and anchoring. She was a NCAA Division II swimmer, the athletics representative in the Student Senate and worked extensively with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC.) She was a contributor to the campus newspaper and was President of the Women's Athletic Honor Sorority. Needless to say, she got used to the crazy hours and little sleep before even getting into the news business!
While not at work Sara enjoys running and swimming, reading, meeting new people, spending time with family and friends, and doing anything that involves a beach!
She feels extremely blessed to continue following her dreams of storytelling. If you have a story idea, send her an email at: email@example.com.
