This is Ashley’s second cross-country leap taken throughout her journalism career, joining our news team as a multimedia journalist in April 2017.
Ashley hops on board with the WHP crew from Roseburg, Oregon, where she worked as an anchor and reporter for CBS affiliate KPIC. Ashley’s most memorable moments in Roseburg range widely: from the one year anniversary of the Umpqua Community College shooting to the viral story of a local dog who lost her puppies, in search of fosters to heal her broken heart. She provided content to both KVAL & KMTR in Eugene as well as live-shots for KOMO in Portland for a devastating Southern Oregon house fire. Ashley’s one-band-band experience at the bureau station in Roseburg greatly sharpened her news skills, readying her for the next jump here to Harrisburg.
Her passion for journalism sprouted from a young age in her home state of South Carolina, where she attended the renown journalism school at the University of South Carolina. There, Ashley worked for Carolina News while interning for Columbia’s CBS affiliate, WLTX, graduating with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and a minor in political science.
Ashley’s love for the news industry has always been centered around the people whose stories she lives to tell.
In her free time, you’ll find Ashley exploring the great outdoors with her labs, Moose & Frosty, or embracing her inner foodie around town. Please feel free to send any must-try food joints, must-do adventures, and most importantly, must-tell story tips to email@example.com. ?
