Steelers OT Gilbert suspended 4 games by NFL for PED violation
PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert has suspended four games by the NFL for violating the performance-enhancing drugs policy.
General Manager Kevin Colbert said Monday the suspension takes effect immediately.
”We are disappointed that Marcus Gilbert has been suspended four games for using performance-enhancing substances,” Colbert said in a statement. “He will not appeal the NFL’s decision.
“The suspension is effective immediately, and he will not be permitted in the building until after the suspension has concluded following our game on Dec. 17.”
Gilbert, 29, is in the third year of a five-year, $30-million contract.
