Shazier regains movement in legs, is walking with help, reports say
PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has regained movement in his legs and has started walking again with help.
"He's making incredible progress," a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter said the next three to six months are critical in Shazier’s recovery and will provide a significant idea of how much more function he can regain.
Shazier was released from UPMC Rehabilitation Institute at UPMC Mercy Thursday and will transition to an outpatient therapy program, officials said.
Michele Tafoya of NBC reported late Sunday afternoon that while Shazier does have movement in his legs, he is not walking without the assistance of a walker or other people to support him.
