Penn State talking confidence ahead of season-opener
UNIVERSITY PARK -- While the expectations for Penn State continued to rise during the off-season, so did the Nittany Lions' confidence. "I feel confident about this season and I feel confident about our team and our coaching staff and, kind of, where we are at for a number of reasons," head coach James Franklin said following Wednesday's practice. "I think their approach in meetings, their approach in practice and their approach, kind of, off the field." According to Franklin, that approach allowed for the most consistent fall camp he's seen in his coaching career. "We knew we were going to be good last year with all the talent that we had, but now looking forward to this year, we see, basically, how much depth we have, how many guys are getting ready to step up and play bigger roles and building off the success of last season, we just know what we are aiming for," wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton said. The Nittany Lions host Akron Saturday at noon at Beaver Stadium.
