Lebanon Catholic chases title and its own history
IT CAN TAKE A LONG TIME TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP.
JUST ASK LEBANON CATHOLIC.. .HERE'S THE PLAQUE FOR THEIR LAST GIRLS STATE TITLE. IT WAS 1995.
YET THEY CAN WIN ANOTHER FRIDAY AT NOON.
LET'S GO INSIDE THE HUDDLE, AND INSIDE THEIR SENSE OF HUMOR.. A DAY BEFORE THE BIGGEST GAME OF THEIR LIVES.
Trying to remember who was president in 1995 is tough for them, but bring up the championship from 22 years ago, and the memories get much clearer.
Coach , " Yes, I can remember it like it was yesterday. "
Back then the Beavers beat Williamsburg 50-46. the old video might look different, but according to the coach that was ethee then, and now.. many other things are still the same.
She says, "Our style of basketball hasn't changed much over the last 25 years. We like to push the ball, we like up tempo."
There is one history lesson the girls at Lebanon Catholic know very well.
Player Jayden Shellehamer says, "I've been ready since we won our game, but I've been nervous thinking about each time she went there, they won but at the same time, I just know everybody is proud of us, and happy we were able to get here. "
Coach Hower says, "you have to have confidence in yourselves and believe in what we're doing. I think we're at that point, I think we're ready for this game.
