Harrisburg wins boys D3 6A basketball championship

In the D3 Class 6A championship Harrisburg took on Hempfield.

Harrisburg started the game on a 8 to 2 run, up 16 to 5 at the end of the first quarter.

Hempfield scored four more points in the second quarter, with Harrisburg up 31 to 9 at the half.

At the end of the third Hempfield was still behind at 48 to 25.

In the fourth quarter Micah Parsons dunked and the Cougars defense went on to prove to bee too much for Hempfield.

Harrisburg won 67 to 40.

I've been waiting for this my whole life, this and a state title. To be a senior, you know, just like I was telling Micah, we have one more goal to get. And that's to get the state title, but this feels good.

This is the 12th District 3 boys championship for the Cougars since the school formed in 1971.
