Train hits car stopped on tracks
Hummelstown, PA —
According to police, a Norfolk Southern general merchandise train struck a vehicle that was stopped on the tracks in Hummelstown, Pa.
Police were dispatched to the railroad tracks on North Water Street near East Second Street just before 2pm.
The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man, was able to exit the car prior to impact. According to police, the driver has been taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
No injuries were reported.
Norfolk Southern is assisting the Hummelstown Police in investigating the incident.
