Supporters of increasing minimum wage gather in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, Pa. —
Supporters of raising Pennsylvania's minimum wage gathered at the Capitol Tuesday to lobby elected officials for their cause.
The state Legislature has not taken up minimum wage legislation in ten years.
The minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour in the Keystone State, while other stages have increased theirs up to $15 an hour.
A boost to $10.10 an hour would put an estimated $1.8 billion in new wages into the state's economy and provide raises for nearly 1.3 million workers.
