New Hope Ministries plans to feed 3,000 families this holiday season
In a little more than a week, people will be sitting down to the Thanksgiving dinner table for a nice meal. But for many disadvantaged families, the struggle to pay for that meal is real. New Hope Ministries is helping 3,000 families to have a meal but they need your help.
“We are happy to be able to bless families with Thanksgiving dinner,” said Molly Helmstetter from New Hope Ministries.
The biggest need right now is turkeys. Just a few days until the distribution of the Thanksgiving food, New Hope is in need of about 400 more turkeys to round out their giving. The food distribution happens on Friday and Saturday of this week at the charities six area locations.
“People are just having a hard time, lost a job, lost a spouse and they just need a little bit of extra help and that's where New Hope really steps into the picture to be able to help people in the time of need,” Helmstetter said.
Besides offering food pantry services, New Hope Ministries helps struggling people with social service programs to get them back on their feet.
If you have the ability to donate or want to volunteer to help, New Hope is always looking for people. The deadline for turkeys is Friday.
