Harrisburg-area man arrested in Charlottesville


CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va -- A 29-year-old Harrisburg-area man was arrested during the riots in Charlottesville today, according to the Superintendent of the Albermarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

Ian Hoffman of Palmyra, Pennsylvania was charged with simple assault and is in custody at the Albermarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. The details surrounding his arrest are unknown.

The governor of Virginia declared a state of emergency on Saturday when protesters clashed at the sight of a Robert. E. Lee statue.
