Governor Wolf introduces new traffic app
We've all been stuck in traffic backups before. Now there's an app for that , to help with long tern emergencies on the highway.
Thursday, Governor Wolf alongside leaders from PEMA, PennDOT and the turnpike announced, 511 PA Connect.
It's a new alert tool designed to send drivers information about backups lasting 4 hours or more. It works similar to Amber Alerts and you'll get the messages straight to your phone without signing up if you're in the area of the emergency.
It was created after the massive turnpike chain reaction crash last Jan.
Leaders believe Pennsylvania is the first state in the county to have an app designed to push alerts to drivers like this.
