Giant Eagle recalls lettuce over E. coli concerns

Giant Eagle has issued a voluntary recall for items that contain romaine lettuce at stores in western Pennsyvlania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.

PITTSBURGH - Giant Eagle has issued a voluntary recall for items that contain romaine lettuce at stores in western Pennsyvlania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.

The store issued the recall over concerns of E coli contamination.

Officials said the recalled items have a packaging date from April 9 to April 13 and they were sold in clear plastic containers.

To date, there have been no reports of any illnesses.

Customers who have purchased the products can return them at their local Giant Eagle store.
