Chambersburg Hospital offers new treatment for coronary artery disease
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa —
Chambersburg Hospital is the first in the region to offer a new treatment for coronary artery disease.
The old version used metal stents that stay in the body forever.
But, the new stent will eventually disappear after clearing the clogged artery. This makes it easier for doctors if future surgeries are needed.
Doctors say this is a major advancement in the treatment of coronary artery disease, which affects 15 million people in the United States.
