500 hoverboards recalled due to fire hazard
Around 500 hoverboards by Vecaro are being recalled due to the battery packs overheating, which is at risk of smoking, catching fire or exploding.
The self-balancing scooters Glide65, Drift8 and Trek10 are included in the recall, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The hoverboards are powered by lithium-ion packs and have "Vecaro" printed on the front. The hoverboards come in black, white, red, blue, metallic silver, graffitti white print and red flame print.
Vecaro says that there have been three reported incidents of the boards smoking but no injuries have been reported.
If you own one of these boards the commission suggests that you should immediately stop using it and contact Vecaro at 1-855-637-4061.
