Community members in Dauphin County attended a special lunchtime event Wednesday focused on ending the dangers of distracted driving.

Capital Blue Cross hosted a lunch and learn event with Karen Brezitski as the guest speaker. Brezitski's son, Owen, was killed after he was hit by a teenage driver who was distracted with a cell phone while driving in Harrisburg.

Since Owen's death in 2011, Brezitski, her family and community leaders have formed Owen's Foundation, which works to bring awareness to and prevent distracted driving.

Part of remembering Owen is through his favorite color, which was orange. The foundation created Orange or Owen as a cause to help prevent future tragedies.

CBS 21 is partnering with Owen's Foundation for an "Orange Out" on Thursday.

CBS 21 is also committed to stopping distracted driving through the Drive Safe Central Pennsylvania initiative.
